Green Cards Through Family
We help people petition (petitioners) for their family members (beneficiaries) who may be eligible to apply for their lawful permanent residence (green card). These beneficiaries include:
- People already in the U.S. who may be able to get their green card without leaving the U.S. The process of getting a green card from within the U.S. is called adjustment of status.
- People already in the U.S. who may need to file a waiver before leaving the U.S. to get their green card (please see Consular Processing)
- People outside the U.S. who will enter the U.S. with their green card (please see Consular Processing)
Depending on whether the petitioner is a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident, family members may include:
- Spouses (including same-sex spouses)
- Children
- Parents
- Brothers and sisters
